Looking for Hotel recommendations for the upcoming RTR Jefferson/Shenandoah April 2012 event this week (Fri-Sun).

Just wondering if people cluster at particular hotel(s), or if everyone just does their own thing. Any recommendations?

Thank you.

People tend to be all over.  You can get a track discount at the Hampton Inn on Berryville Pike in Winchester.  Got to ask for the track discount or rate. I think it is $79 per night.

The Hampton Inn in Inwood, WV, also has a Summit Point discounted rate (ask for it at the desk). It's farther from the Winchester restaurants, but closer to Philadelphia (unless you take I-95, which I do not) and some nighttime entertainment. It's also a newer property than the Winchester Hampton Inn.

Ben:

I know some of the SCH guys also stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Charles Town. It is close to the casino, if that is of interest to you.

I was at Summit this past Friday and Saturday and some of us ate dinner at the casino...it was reasonably priced and decent food.

You probably won't get better than $77/night. The Holiday Inn Express in Charlestown is clean and convenient, but they have priced themselves out of the DE market as far as I'm concerned. Over $100 a night for Thurs/ Fri and almost $120 for Sat just doesn't do it for me. And that's WITH the AAA discount.
