ANyone here have DAS in his car? I was thinking of it for a winter installation, but it's getting to be spring already. What are you using, and what do you think of the analysis software that comes with it?

Chris, I have the G2x, works great.  Jack K. has a DL-1 I believe.  Option 2 is a good camera system.  Running data in traffic is useless.  You need a fast moving group or open track room to actually use the data as a reference.  I use during the club racing practice sessions to establish a "qualifying lap".  This allows me to take the rest of the session to try different lines etc or to measure competitors speeds.

Chris,

I have a Traqmate Complete system.  http://www.traqmate.com/  It's a GPS based system.

I've been quite happy with it.   It's very easy to setup and use.  I like the lap comparison capabilities of the software.  You can overlay several different laps to compare & determine what worked best on a corner by corner, or segment by segment basis.

The system is so portable that you can install it in other cars in 5 minutes and compare your performance against theirs.

The only issue I have is that I forget to turn the darned thing on half the time Smile

Take care,
Jack

Jack:

Did you buy the video option?   How difficult is it to overlay data on video?

Kam,  the video overlay is available for most of the units now and can be synchronized on your computer.  Jack, one advantage to the G2X is it automatically starts recording over 25mph and shuts down after a minute below 25mph so you can pretty much leave it on.

I have a great map of the turnpike when I forgot to turn it off before loading my car on the trailer (leaving the Glen).    Tongue

I think I'm going with the G2X system, in time, I hope, for Shenandoah.
