Just got my confirmation e-mail.

Who else is in?

For those who have not gotten in, Allegheny Region is at the Glen that weekend.  The last time I ran with them: All drivers (non-instructors) are assigned an instructor (until signed off).  Lower run group (our Blue and Green), all passing is done on the left,  (on a right hander the passed car will pull off line and let the passing car pass on the left).  They have open track on Friday for advanced drivers only, invite required.  Nice people!

Ugly! I'll be busy for any Allegheny instructing opportunities. Why would you make more work for passing? The slower cars have enough trouble just getting a hand out the window, now we want them to do more thinking - that does not make any nickels to me. This is as bad as using turn signals instead of hand signals.

I have run with ARPCA and they put together a good event.  They do things midwest style so the run groups are different but you should be able to place yourself in the appropriate level.  Solo drivers are esentially given a check out ride with an instructor and unless the instructor see's deficiencies you are signed off to solo immediatly. I was not aware of their passing rules as I have never run in their lower groups. Much like Tony I do not approve of the passing restrictions in the green group and think they make the instructors job all that more difficult. I have gotten to know a few of their instuctors and I believe they have quality instruction much like RTR.

Oh, and yes I am in for Fri Sat and Sun.

That only gives you Thursday to get the car re-teched. Wally-make sure his tech form is dated May 17th. Big Grin

The reasoning as told to me by their CI, is that they want to simulate what you would encounter on the road. They feel their students are more comfortable doing on the track, what they do on the road. Guess they don't pass on the right in Western PA. Or maybe they drive with more courtesy, and stay to the right with the exception of passing.
