Nice driving Steve, smooth hand work. Was that a Sunday drive? Looks too easy I think we need to add some weight to that car.

Taking the inside line after the front straight makes the car feel more planted to me. It seems to me that the track is slightly off camber on the outside line. I have some tuning to do on the suspension and set up on the car. It has considerable understeer in slower corners. I use throttle lift to get some front end traction, initiate car rotation and transition into over-steer. This helps get the car pointed where I want it. This may not be the fastest way but It fun doing it. I observed the same as Jack where I would gain a on cars that took the outside line. Sometimes the optimal line is not the best due to track camber issues. I have not looked at corner exit speeds they may be comparable in either line but if you are catching other cars and exiting with similar speed then you should have a slightly lower time around the track. Did anyone compare sector times there? SM

I still haven't figured out how to do sector times on the Traqmate -- Jack have you? Since several of us are using the same unit we should probably set the tracks up to use the same sectors. I'll see if I can figure out how to do it from the instruction manual.

Will be valuable to see each other's data. Jack

I created a segment analysis for a couple of laps at Jefferson running clockwise. I uploaded the session analysis file to the Traqmate site, but it seems to be having a problem as I keep getting an error every time I try to access the file. So, on to plan B. I'll find some public site share this as it's larger than the 500kb limit for the forum.
I purchased the TrackVision video/data aquistion merge software. It merges information from a several popular data aqusition systems with video. I t superimposes a dashboard from the data aquisition system onto the video. Here's my first attempt at the merge process. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=...2188281638 It took a fair amount of trial and error to get this working, but producing others should be easier now that I have it figured out. I'll post additional merges as I get the opportunity. Take care, Jack

I was out there Sat but could only stay for a little while, my 3 year old (my new track buddy) had fallen asleep on the ride out to Jefferson so when she woke up she had tons of energy. We ended up going to watch one of my friends on the main circuit in the MARRS series and walking around all the trails inside the main circuit. It was really nice seeing everyone again.

Here's a video w/ Traqmate data of the first run session at Summit. I had my old, beat up tires on so the lap times aren't very impressive. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=...2846&hl=en I compared traqmate files from this session with the trashed tires vs. my 2nd session with 2 event old tires. The lateral and braking g-force differential was significant, over .3 g's higher with the newer tires! Take care, Jack
