Our friends to the south in Maryland have started installing speed cameras along I-95. The infestation starts north of Baltimore and goes all the way to DC! Just wanted to let anyone know who's venturing towards the DC/Baltimore area....:X

I'm not sure they work so well with our rear-only license plates Smile

I'm not sure which way they are taking the pictures (front or back), but I'm usually going through with a rental car which often has both. I did get hit with a speed cam on Conn.  Ave that took the pic from the back...

Welcome to my (UK) world. I cannot believe how many speed and red light cameras they have here. Also how many CCTV cameras cover almost the entirety of London. Makes me want to carry a water pistol filled with black paint....

That is the number one reason why I bought my 9500ix. Those speedcams are showing up all over the place down here. From my house in Frederick, through Darnestown, into Potomac, and in Bethesda where I work there are 4 speed cams set up on my route plus another 3 red light cams on River Rd in Bethesda. It is nuts!! And yes, the camera catches the rear tag. One of my clients put on his car the rear reflector tag cover and the reflective louvers to cover the plate from high mounted cameras. It is nuts down here the way D.C. and Montgomery County are trying to generate revenue.

So they just ticket the owner? How do they know who was driving?

Darren,   The registered owner is responsible for the fine, zero points are issued. The state (MD) supplies the registered owner with the picture of the speeding driver, now you are a collection agency..

Just like the red light cameras, The state  just wants your $$$$$  consider it another  back door tax...

P.S. If you travel on Rt 309 South of the turnpike, look up & see what they are installing !! !!   Joe Asher ..
