There is a reason why the Track Marshall tells the spectators to keep back when standing and watching the cars fly by on the track.  In the unfortunate event that someone loses control of their car in that vicinity, it is to prevent a disaster from happening.

I can't believe the spectators are: 1)  Permitted to stand at the edge of the road in this video, and, 2)  That they don't have the common sense to forsee the inevitable happening.... particularly at the end of a turn.

I've seen many videos like this and then some. the sport is Rally, The drivers as well as the spectators have a few loose screws up there

Agree with you, George.  I tried to import the two rally videos on Rennlist's GT3 forum-pretty fun to watch.  At least it seems the Brits do it a little more carefully, with roped off areas around the turns, etc.  Still, I'll be just fine watching the vids, no need to get in harm's way.

Just saw on aol news, a woman watching the dakar rally (I think) was killed when a car went off track striking her and several others.  Bummer.
