You actually just made me laugh out loud!!  I would feel the need to duct-tape my butt-cheeks together before venturing too far into Texas.  Even for F1.  Big Grin

We can caravan to the F1 in Texas! We can pull our cars out of the garage, pack them up, get ready to start the "drive", and at the last second we decide our tires aren't safe enough, unpack the cars and pull them back into the garage. Guess we're NOT going!

Never thought there would be a reason to go to Texas [Image: roflmao.gif]I hear Austin is a pretty cool city, but looks like another Hermann Tilke track  :?

LOL!! And then we can wuss out because of the rain, and ultimately blame it on the tire manufacturers and the track configuration. But in the end, we could all prance about in our pretty driving suits and wave to the crowd as way of appeasement.

How awesome would an F1 race or even Indy race, be if it were held on a combination of the Ben Franklin Pkwy and Kelly drive.  I thought if this years ago when there used to be a statue in the middle of Kelly drive near the Art Museum.  I thought that could be the hairpin turn that would send the drivers back to Logan Circle.  I know . . . too dangerous for today's drivers.  But it would have been perfect, and permissible back in the 60s.

Ban aero and electronic aides and run the damn things at Watkins Glen.

2010 Formula One is a botox-and-silicone injected shell of real F-1.  It's like comparing the latest Maxim tart to Virna Lisi.

For once, I agree with every comment posted thus far.  If "Bernie the Devil" would just go away, and the slimey corporations could just go away, maybe we could actually race at the Glen once again.

And yes, open road racing will always be the "awesomest".
