Contractor inadvertently dented right rear fender of my 993 (also cracking corner of light).  Looks like it might be a good candidate for paintless dent removal; based on my very quick examination of the area this morning while I was dashing from home to work there does not appear to be any damage to the paint.  However, due to the curvature of the area it may be more difficult to repair well, so I am especially eager to find someone who has an excellent reputation.  Anyone have first hand experience with someone in the area they can recommend?  If not, any recommendations based on others' experience/recommendations?  I live in the Chestnut Hill/West Mount Airy section of Philadelphia and work in Jenkintown, but am certainly willing to travel quite a distance if necessary to use someone excellent.

Thanks.
Larry

You can try Brian Matus @ Matus Auto Body 610-275-3002 (Bridgeport, PA) or Rob Nudy @ Eagle Collision 610-458-8850 (Chester Springs, PA). I have used both and referred many clients in the past with excellent results. Feel free to mention my name when you contact them.

Larry,

It's pretty far for you, but I have used Dent Tech in Allentown before. Excellent work. They are on the Lehigh St. auto mile which is only ~ 10 minutes off the LV Tpk exchange.

Regardless of who you use, don't wait for the car, find a sports bar to sit it out. The amount and volume of banging going on will give you heart palpitations. It's all a necessary part of the process but unnerving nonetheless.

I use Mike Murphy.  Don't know his number but I am sure someone on the board will.  He does great work and is an active RTR member.

I've had at least 1/2 dozen very good experiences with this process at Carisma West on Lancaster Ave in Frazer. Most were small dings from god knows what up to and including a caved in car door from being tapped by another careless driver's bumper and a major shopping cart dent. An amazing process if done well. Good luck.

If the damage can be repaired using PDR Mike Murphy is one of the best in the business.  He can do things the other dent guys turn down.

Thanks to everyone for the information. Based on all the recommendations, I plan to visit Mike Murphy/Carisma.  Unfortunately looks like they're not open weekends so I have to take off from work and make the trek.  Not sure which is their main place of business, but will find out when I call Monday to discuss bringing my car in Tuesday if possible.  I'm crossing my fingers that despite relatively sharp curve in the area of the dent it will come out okay -- and that the paint which appears to be from the other vehicle, will buff out fairly easily.

Can anyone give me some idea about what paintless dent removal might cost?  I couldn't find any information on Carisma's FAQs.

Larry

With any luck I can get this taken care of before the Glen -- where I intend to stay away from the Armco.

Mike Murphy!

Mike took out deer damage from the entire driver side of my car.  Three other shops refused to even attempt it.

It was around $1200 for 3 separate dents on my car...funny thing, he fixed mine before the Glen, too....

Just got back from Carisma.  (And theGlen, Summit and Monticello, where I fortunately did not do anything requiring additional body work.)  Couldn't be more pleased.  Many thanks to all the other satisfied customers who recommended him.  I may get another chance to thank him if he drives at Pocono or Thunderbolt (both possibilities, according to him).

Now I need to replace the cracked rear light, to complete the repair.  Any recommendations for particularly inexpensive sources?
