I heard some rumors of changing the "group" hotel for Summit based events.  Seems the Hampton in Winchester no longer allows us to congragate in the lobby/dining area in the evenings.  Something about the amount of wine that's consumed Smile

Have we decided on an alternative?  It would be great if we could find something in the Charlestown area as that would cut :20 off the drive down.

The Hotels in Charlestown are at best a dump.  There are many hotels along 81 within a few exits of Winchester.

Maybe we could move to the Hampton Inn at Innwood, WV? Might take them some time to toss us out.

They built a new holiday inn express in charles town,I have not stayed there yet. It is next to horse track/slots. C town has many more food options than Inwood.

Great place, a little far (20 miles) from the track but very nice and reasonable:

There is another Hampton Inn and a Wingate Inn  at the next exit after the current Hampton Inn and Shoneys that we currently stay at.  I have a friend that stays at the Wingate and said it is nice.  There are also many places to eat at that exit (Ruby Tues, Chilli's, etc)

I've stayed at the Hampton in Inwood and it's nice (especially for WV).  It opened about 1 1/2 years ago.

It's closer to the track than Winchester and also a shorter drive by about 20 miles.  The downside is the limited number of restaurants.  You need to drive up to Martinsburg or down to Winchester for options.

I have reserved the Hampton Inn at Inwood, WV. It's nice, good breakfast, very friendly staff and WiFi.
