I've read a lot of conflicting information elsewhere about how to set up your tires during winter storage with respect to flat spotting.

Some folks recommend over inflating the tires to 40/50 psi, others recommend using purpose made pads like FlatStoppers or TireCradles, putting the car up on jack stands have appeared as another option, and still others recommend doing nothing.

What is the general consensus if you plan to store your car for the winter months?

thanks,
scott

alot of it really depends on how long you have it parked. once every 2-3 weeks taking the car out for a drive probably not needing to do anything. if you want a safety net, pump up the tires to about 10psi over whatever the spec is. if you take it out once every 6-8 weeks, maybe rolling the car to change contact position on the tires along with tire pressure. if it is November to April then take them off, seal them in tire bags and then reinstall in the spring. I used to just take my track wheels/tires off and bag them up and put my street stuff on while it was parked. now that my car is back together, I'll probably just wring its neck all year long Big Grin

I've increased the tire pressures on my '86 911 to 50 lbs over the winter and haven't had a problem with flat spotting.
