But held by the RTR or even local clubs. Perhaps, which would entail Dealing with the cars mechanics, and features that would not only help us be better drivers but also help us become more competitive at the track or course? Id love to go to a porsche driver experience but dont want to dish out a few grand. I could see this being a shortcut to novices like myself and others.
the only thing i know of is at the beginning of the season Philly SCCA does a beginner autocross school. basically 1 day of classroom and 1 day of on course with instructor. This year is the first time i seen them do something along the lines of an intermediate school, but i didn't attend.
I do recall a scenario at the beginner school that put 4 people with a cup of water half full/half empty acting as the 4 wheels of the car.
pretending we are accelerating those in the front would pour some of their water into those holding the cups at the back.
say for example, you jam the brakes the water moves back to the front.
make a sharp turn and you may be overflowing some cups onto the floor.
hopefully that makes sense.
i've herd nnjr scca may do some kind of school as well.
Interesting, we need to do something like that for RTR being as though our vehicles react a little differently than other ones.
Maybe a beginner course then work our way up to more expirenced sessions or format.
Itll be a great way for guys/ gals who purchase these cars(porsches) for thier driving capability and would be able to know and use its handling characteristics at a optimal level, along with the vehicles electrical nannies( pasm, traction control, sport, sport plus). Something local or closer for everyone in our region?
So far i love our group due to everyones camaraderie, and willingness to help each other out. Ive learned a good amount from you guys!
