Wanted to see if anyone had recommendations for lodging for Watkins Glen.

Thanks,

Chris:
Depending on your wallet and level of comfort you've got:
The Falls In Montour Falls about 10 min from WGI
It's clean, very basic and close.
At the top end of the $$ scale you've got The Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen about 15 minutes from WGI. I'd say it's sort of on par with a Ritz Carlton. Has a full service restaurant/bar is at the foot of Seneca Lake. Walking distance to anything that's worth walking to in Watkins Glen.

If your a Marriott guy you've got a few Marriott properties in Horse Heads and Corning, these are about 30 min from WGI

There's a few more places like the Seneca Lodge but that's a bit too rustic for me. And I know a few people have had good luck with Air BNB's.
If you want more detailed info feel free to PM me.

I was following this thread but looks like it won’t matter because The Glen already sold out for some run groups! Wow - first day! Is that a record? Crossing fingers for the waitlist to pan out. Lodging options look great.

Yeah it sold out with a quickness. I'm going to try out the falls since I'm riding solo that weekend.

Even if you don't stay at the Seneca Lodge (I do whenever I can), check out the bar there with all the racing and other memorabilia. That and the friendly bar staff (they remember me from year to year--don't ask why) and the pretty good food in the restaurant should not be missed.

I have a room at the Seneca Lodge with two queen beds. Happy to split with someone attending WGI in a couple of weeks. PM me here.

DE to do list for 2020:

#1 Book a room at the Seneca Lodge.

#2 Wait for the postcard confirming reservation to arrive.

#3 Upon receipt of the postcard, sign up for the RTR DE. This year it's instruct only because I'll not want to run the race car the weekend after our club race at Monticello and the GT4 is still in MI but I sure wouldn't want to miss the RTR DE at WGI!

#4 Look forward in anticipation to two wonderful weekends in a row.
