It seems that 2012 passed us by like a Carrera going 150 mph on the track! Here one minute and gone the next! But if we slow down to the speed limit (for a Porsche that's about 80mph) we can have a look at what a great time we had together at the RTR 2012 Social Events!
We sampled wines at the Dilworthtown Wine Festival after an exciting Chester Counrty drive led by Paula. We nibbled on cheeses and appetizers while we did a wine tasting at Black Walnut Winery after a curvy drive led by Jeff. We hit the road with a brief stop for a train when we travelled and explored the depths of Crystal Cave followed by lunch at the Virginville Hotel. We oompahed to German music in the beer garden at Stoudts Brewery and took a tour with Mr. Stoudt himself. We learned about and sampled the distilled goods at Philadelphia Distilling Co followed by lunch. We feasted at The General Warren Inn with our wine and food pairings. We enjoyed meeting new members and old ones too at many member breakfasts around the region. We cheered the Reading Phillies during our family picnic. And last but not least we danced the night away at our holiday party with great food, fab door prizes, and of course wonderful friends.
Now on to 2013! There will be the annual trip to Stoudts Brewery in Oct. We will have a few wine dinners planned as wells as a few smaller cocktail hours at various spots around the region. We will return to Chester Valley Golf Club for this years holiday party which will be even grander then last year! The family picnic will be an old time family affair! We will be outside in a pavilion with a roasted pig, hot dogs, pasta, snow cones, sodas and beer on tap, etc as well as an outside drive in movie to watch in your cars or on blankets or in chairs with popcorn. We are planning a summer drive to Niagara Falls and a two night stay in East Aurora NY by the Roycroft Campus of Arts and Crafts. We will continue to have our Chester County drive and a stop at the Dilworthtown Inn Wine Festival. Plus I have a few dozen other ideas floating around in my head! We hope to see you at our many member breakfasts and a few causal member dinners too this year! We have many fun events throughout the year so try and make a few or all of them!
RTR Members are a friendly bunch so come on out and make some new friends! Again we look forward to seeing you at our social events this year!
Ever Best,
Wendy Walton, RTR Social Chair
