I would like to thank all for their participation at our Thunderbolt track event. The feed back from all participants has been very positive. It offered participants a great amount of track time to clear out the cobwebs from a long winter break. It was evident throughout the course of the day that many were a little rusty but by the last run session everyone was up to speed and performing like typical Reisentoter participants.
Another highlight of this event was the incredible weather that allowed everyone maximum seat time. So if you missed it this year be sure to join us next year as we are going to try to make it continue as an annual event.
It has been several years since we have hosted an event at thunderbolt and this event served as a reminder of what a great track Thunderbolt is, with some good straits to allow higher horsepower cars to shine and tighter sections that allowed the low power car owners to exploit their car’s cornering abilities. All participants showed exceptional judgment in their driving and car preparation that maximized track time for all who attended.
Our next event of our 2013 DE program is quickly approaching. Our next event will take place at what some consider their favorite track, Pocono North Course. We have had some great fall events at Pocono and it is a great event for new DE participants. Pocono North course has a lot to offer participants of all skill levels and has a layout that is suitable for cars of all power levels, combining Part of the NASCAR tri oval with a technical infield section. Just a reminder this event is also going to offer the “Intro to DE Program” (formerly taste of the track) that allows drivers that have never participated in a DE to have an introductory experience that can allow them to get hooked on driving on the track. So tell friends neighbors and anyone that seems to have the “car addiction” to go to Motorsport Reg and get registered. It is going to be an exciting fun filled event with a ton of track time for students and instructors alike. There is still room for additional participants and instructors. So if you can make it get online and get registered. Brian, and myself appreciate your participation.
I would again like to thank all instructors for your efforts that made 2012 a great success, it is a real pleasure to work with such a fine group. I would also like to thank our registrars Marty and Adam Kocse, our Track Chair Paul Walsack and my co-chief instructor Brian Minkin and for all that they do to provide us with such a great DE program this year.
I would also like to remind all instructors that we still need instructors for our car control clinic on April 28th at Montgomery County Community College. This can serve as a great feeder program for our DE program and can provide participants with car control skill that could save lives.
More information can be found on our calendar, and registration is available on Motorsport Reg. Hope to see all of you at Pocono Raceway for another fun filled weekend.
