I had the opportunity to drive a Cayman S for a day, I put about 150 miles on it and loved it. It drives differently than a 996/997. If feels lighter, more toss-able, and is more rigid. The sound from the mid-engine with the sport exhaust in a coupe is pure intoxication. The feel of the shifter is as Mankowski described it like a hot knife in warm butter. Power/weight is about equal to my 996. It is the daily driver when I don't have the kids, need to haul large items, or when it is snowing. When the Cayman is older, I may use it for DEs. I also got a very good deal on it!

Hi guys!  As a neophyte I wanted to thank everyone in advance for the encouraging posts.  I'm new to the club and DE in general and am looking forward to meeting you all and participating as well.  By the way Eric, nice collection there- I can't stop drooling...

Eric,

Welcome to the club! Your growing collection is quite nice too!

Bummed Out!  I was hoping to make the meeting at Dougherty's next weekend but it looks as though work obligations are going to interfere.  Will there be any other gatherings in the near-term?  If you guys can't tell I'm itching to learn as much as possible!  Big Grin

E,

Can you make it to Vendor night on this coming Wednesday, the 20th? If so, we will be there with almost 20 vendors, all supporting our 'car-habit'.

7 p.m. festivities start...We promise to fill your brain full of car talk!

Thanks for the intel, love it when a plan comes together!  Work permitting, I'll try to make this meeting instead.  -EM
