When I belonged to a country club, I was fortunate to perform accounting and tax work for several members, who I still maintain relationships. I have also used the services of other members. In many circles, it's viewed as a member benefit. I don't feel that it's any different with RTR.

I don't openly solicit work from our members, but I do advertise in der gasser and offer discounts on tax preparation. In fact, as members, we should support the advertisers who support our club.

Steve:

When I get to a point of needing a CPA, you will be first on the list. After all your ad revenue supports my writing outlet, and for that I am most greatful.

But you have to admit that there are some folks who see a club like RTR as being a "fertile hunting ground".

I can't argue with that.

I've always found that you can enhance your business through normal conversations and word of mouth.  Your new clients feel that they not only know you but, more importantly, trust you.

Well, there's that, plus if you screw someone over in your social group, then that's not generally not a good idea.

LOL! Well, that's a totally different kind of social group and they're probably way more forgiving. Big Grin

I race women

I fondle tennis balls

I play like a woman
