Since we dont own the forum software (we lease it ) its not a feature we could add to the forum directly, but I am sure we could create our own group on some other chat site and have a link to it.

That's what I'm thinking. I see a number of viable options that would be no cost.

This one doesn't look bad.

http://www.parachat.com/

You will need to register to use the site, but just register under your RTR logon and there will be consistency.

I have set up a chatroom named RTRChat

You can enter here:
http://chat.parachat.com/chat/login.html...979797〈=en

- it is possible to password protect it, but I have not done so yet. It if prompts for a room password click on enter without password.

...might be a good way to have live chats and I don't yet see any drawbacks to this one.... we can give it a try and if it has problems, then we can try something else.

He's still here. He stepped in for me while I went on admin. vacation. Smile

Now he's relaxing with the rest of the 'ard family until he needs to step in for me again.

The annoying thing with me deleting myself is that I now no longer hold the record for most posts on the forum... have to work on getting my numbers back up again. Wink

Nice job getting the chat room started.

We could have a chat room schedule. For example:

Mondays 8pm: Presidential  chat. Minkin's minutes.

Tuesdays 9pm: Tech time with Larry

Wednesdays 8pm: Tony's Time

Thursdays 8pm Track Talk

Fridays 9:00pm-9:01pm the AX minute

Thanks!

I like the idea of scheduled chat. We seem to get good traffic in the evenings, so if people want to chat on a specific topic then that should work out well.

You might want to post the suggestion in the new thread that I started and see if others are up for it.
