I kinda agree with the laid back approach.  Anger would be warranted had the incident not been brought to light, or if the "offender" had absconded to South America with the ill gotten gains.  As it stands, everything is under control, and things will get resolved.

Why are folks so darn angry?

Chris -- Assuming that what I am reading is correct about the situation, the incident did not come to light nor do I believe it would ever have come to light had it not been discovered by the Exec.  I have not read anything about any voluntary disclosure of the incident, admission of a problem, etc.  To the contrary, it sounds like denial, denial, denial.  I for one would have no problem treating this as if it had never happened if the incident did indeed come to light.  Deception does make me angry and I think if makes others angry too.

Stealing is wrong, but he didn't kill, assault or rape anyone. So don't start errecting the gallows just yet. Let the process continue, and at the end justice will be served.

For more than five years he was our friend who would help fix and maintain our cars, lend his tools, cook a meal for us, have a beer with us and talk as a friend with us. What was descriebed and is wriiten in the report of the accountant that was hired by the E-Board is wrong, but haven't all of us done something wrong in our lives? Good thing our friends have forgiven us.

Is god a caring and forgiving god, or a vengeful god?

Again, I only opened a forum on the issue. Evidently I felt there was a need for discussion, and if I want to know other members opinions, I have every right to do so. Sorry you disagree. Judging from the response on this thread, many other members wished to comment and/or express their views too. Again, it only had to do with the ISSUE and NOTHING to do with the ex-Treasurer personally, God or anything else.
