Mike, I was starting to think that you had left us. I hope that you're warming up for the packed AX season we have planned.

As I said before, sorry about that. I was not aware of any committee, and since I have not heard anything about the sudgested site I mentioned months ago, I thought that nothing was being done. (It is January, 2007, clubs are filling dates!!)
Anyways, ALL this enbarasment (on my part) could have been avoided if a member of the committee would have contacted me and say: "Nick, Thanks for the tip of the Unysis site. We have checked it out and now we are working with people there to get dates" Amen!

Nick,
Honest mistake -I'm sure that it wasn't deliberate. To be honest we started working on this while you were AWOL for several weeks and didn't think to mention it.

We know you have a lot of ideas and we're open to hearing about them. I can tell you that the AX season is looking pretty good right now - different from what we've done before, but we think you'll like it.

Brian, did you have the Martini and Rossi edition? I always liked that color scheme. My buddy had a Maroon 924. Handled great, but was really slow. And so was the turbo for that matter. Nonetheless, they were not that bad a car.

It was a daqrk metallic red 924 with tan leather interior. The only Porsche marking was the hood badge. If I remember right a gold pinstrip. Not fast but once off the line it would zip along at a pretty good clip. Had a sort of hum to it when you cruised. Handled very well. The end of the car was when my father was driving it and when leaving his development a car that was parked up on a hill in a driveway (some kind of big station wagon) jumped out of gear and rolled down and broad sided the passenger side of the car. Insurance company totalled it. This was about 1983.

Remember the 924 GTR Turbo car? I liked that one. If I recall they ran that version at Lemans. It had that scoop on the right side of the hood as I remember and added flares. I just thought that car looked so serious. Had a boost control knob. Man now thinking back on it it was an awesome car!!

Hank!
You may have to paint your car to the Whitpain Twp. cop color scheme.......The uniform is not enoughCool

Does anyone know of a cheap 924S that 5 of us can buy and make a 924 CUP series in AX using the same car? So only the driver will make the difference. The season winner gets to keep the carConfusedhock:Cool

Call Dougherty's.  They have a really nice white one.  If I were to race, that is the car for the right series.

Chris, do you know what they want for it?

I'll like to see WHO, 5-6 persons might be interested in such an endeavor. I would guess that the car plus expenses for the season (set of Kumho V710, oil change, fuel, etc.) to be maybe $4000.00. If we have 8 events, times 6 drivers, times 7 runs each, that would be close to 350 runs total. The 924S would be a low power, cheap enough to make the 924 CUP championship afordable.....certainly, details would have to be worked out, but here is an IDEA.Confusedhock:

Any would be interested drivers? This Question is for track junkies AS WELL!!
