wiring near air intake for '03 Carrera

Thanks for reply Larry,

I have to give you some details first.

I replaced my filter with a K&N cold air intake.  I changed out my intake system three different times, different cars. I do not remember if wire should be detached.

I recently had ignition coils replaced, all six. Oil separator replaced as well. Car was leaking coolant big time.. Since repair, engine light has come on.  I decided to investigate for loose filter and found wire detached.  So, wire isn't in place as originally installed as stock. 

I can explain description of wire as; Y shape.  One side attached to air intake housing or throttle body, upper right corner.  Plug is sort of flat.  Other side of Y shape wire is detached. It has plug that is able to grip with fingers to connect and unplug.  I'm not able to provide pics as of yet.  I hope description helps.  I haven't contacted repair facility as I am hoping to fix on my own.  Hope you are able to help with advice..
