I agree with Safelite.  Unfortunately have had to use their services a few times now both for windshield replacement and repair.  Excellent service overall.  If the damage is not in your line of sight, I would favor windshield repair.  Keep in mind there will be some residual evidence of the damage but it will keep things from getting worse.  My philosophy is that with DE's etc we are going to be prone to more cracks, therefore avoiding windshield replacement for as long as possible is preferable.
