As for Jeff's assertion that we are a car club without any necessity to donate to charity, I wholeheartedly DISAGREE. As a non-profit entity, we have the responsibility to give back to our communities in some way. Let's face it, the large majority of us have been pretty blessed with success...enough success to be able to afford to buy and maintain a special brand of automobile. How shallow would we be if we didn't make an effort to contribute to charity in some way as a result of this shared interest? If we're not running any charitable events anymore, I think it is incumbent upon the board to take every surplus dollar in the club's coffer at the end of each year and disburse it to charity. I don't want my dues or my registration fees being used to build up cash in the club's treasury if there will no longer be a charitable component to our membership. I believe many members feel the same way.
