I have been a proponent of first lap under yellow to avoid drivers starting out at the speeds they obtained in the proceeding session

Should we protecting people from themselves?

I'm ok with the 1st lap of the 1st session of the day going yellow. The flip side to a yellow 1st lap each session is that it leads to trains.

If a jack--- wants to pass me after turn one with cold tires on a cold track, I'd gladly give the point (and give him/her distance) and try and guess exactly when they will have an incident.
