A 6 point belt properly mounted will be more comfortable than a 5 point one, for the reasons mentioned. It is hard to properly mount one down through the seat because the sub hole is usually not wide enough. It should be on the order of 6~8" wide to allow a mounting spread of around 10~12".
Team Tech has solved this problem with their Jet Pilot harness. They call it a 7 point, but in reality, it is a 5 point with 2 straps that wrap around your legs to keep your torso in place. It is very comfortable, but a little more difficult to jump into. I have it in my car.
