It was pretty quick... but I've had my eye on this car for a few months (listed twice on ebay and didn't meet reserve). Finally, after summit point and talking with a few of you guys (especially Tony), I called the guy and the car was still available. I went out to Hamburg to take a peak, and it looked like it had just come out of the showroom floor. The PO was the second owner (first owner was tim lombardi of penske racing). I was just a freak occurance that this car did not sell.... I've got a very good feel of the market as I've been scouting the market regarding 993s for over a year.
I just couldn't believe the deal on this car, as I was looking at cars with double the milage that were 5-6K more... To top it off, the car had the aerokit that I wanted (GT2 front and RS tail), sweet BBS wheels and the Fabspeed supercut exhaust. It's just a shame that the interior and paint are so pristine... I feel guilty putting it on the track.
Anyway, clear-bra went on this week, as well as a DasSport Rollbar and Recaro Profi SPG XLs. I'm still sorting through the suspension options and realize that I need to walk before I run... so I'm likely going with PSS9s, RS sways, and ERP camber plates (although I'll likely not need the camber plates for a while, as I'll be keeping the camber pretty moderate as the car will be used on the street). I thought about the JIC CROSS setup, but was discouraged by Bill Dougherty and Steve Weiner (the gurus), who reigned me in and told me to stick with the PSS9s.
