Eric, PM me with info - Did Dennis Macchio hook you up? Sounds like an economical way to start...

All you Porsche owners talking about economical racing should consider 944 cup series racing. You can race the 44 cup series, NASA GTS1, SCCA ITS, PCA SP2 and if so inclined the Pro IT series with the New jersey racing Board. I started with Reisentoter 3 years ago in DE, got my first comp license with NASA, now have comp licenses with all three sanctioning groups. Racing is way more fun then DE.

Ballpark is $2500-3000 for 3 day weekend factoring in lodging. Includes fuel and disposables. Crash damage extra!
This was a 3 day event: test day, 2 qualifying sessions and 2 races.

Tons of fun but admittedly less total track time than DE.

Don't report this to the home CFO......!!!

Not sure about racer's creed since I was not invited to that meeting. Nick depending on class I would break it down like this:

Stock class cars enrollment, car prep, fast tires for class. 2500.00 to 3k.

GT class add another 1k.

Cup class add another 3k.

The above considers consumables such as brake pads, gas, tires. This also includes entry fee, cheap lodging. It does not include mechanical failures and added track support.
