No one is talking behind Jon's back. Steve e-mailed the entire board about his comments here, including Jon.

And, Steve can tell you I defended Jon in those e-mails by saying it wasn't entirely his fault the event didn't happen. I quoted the May 20 exec meeting minutes in which the event was discussed. We are all responsible for the event not taking place this past year.

Only myself and one other poster to this thread are "old guard". All the rest, the majority, are "new guard" (5 years or less as members)

Seriously. You're a bunch of grown men. Jon volunteered, realized he didn't have the time necessary to run an effective DE,
I didn't know that Jon was responsible to run the DE program. I thought I was and am unaware that there were problems with the program.

and AX fell a bit into disarray. It was mentioned earlier that NO ONE stepped up to take his place this year.
AX is a position like some others that need not be filled. In past years the position has been left vacant with same net effect as now.

So if you're gonna step up, great. But keep the attacks and childish antics to yourselves. If he made promises he couldn't keep, well, how many of us have done the same in our lifetimes?
As a child I made childish promises I could not or did not keep, then I grew up and became a man. My only commodity is my word, my only value is my honor.

Please, just knock off the nonsense.
Take your own advice.

I would love to see PnP come back? Absolutely. It was truly the premier event for the club. No other event came close the the fun, passion, and companionship that our club is all about. Steve did an absolutely amazing job in getting it established as well as the execution. If he wants to run it again, so be it. But for now? Please stop talking behind Jon's back. If you have something to say, say it to him, not in an e-mail to someone else.
Jon receive all the emails on this subject, nothing was "back channeled" that I know of. Also this Forum is open to all, for all to see.

That's just as "dishonorable" as him not keeping a promise.
?

I like Jon, he's a very charismatic person with good people skills, my only complaint about him is that he does not reach out to others for help or advice when he isn't sure how to go about his responsibilities. (to RTR)

"c"-word??... Corvette?
Seriously, if the event is a go I'm willing to chip in and provide trophies for the winners of the AX portion and the show & shine portion. I'll just need to know in time to get them ordered. I could save some time and have Nicks name printed on the first place one...

Wow Steve! You can rally the masses.
Finally, many DE and other SILENT majority, that I have never seen, chimes in to the AX thread. I hope that all of you will participate and support the AX program running your cars as much as your mouths (fingers).......... and I am not only speaking of PnP event. AX is a great competitive sport where you can show off your car and some skills as a driver (or should it be: "Your skills" regardless of the car) and be very social with many people at the same time. After every event, we often get together for some beer and food, and talk about the day's spins and fast times.
So, here again, I offer to pick up anyone's food and drink tab who beats me with their Porsche in RAW time, not only in the PnP event, but in any other event we compete.Confusedhock: Yes, I really said that........ and here, it is like a contract!:dude:

Pretty sure my Steve (Landstra) will help out as before with course design - he's got his roots in AX and maybe can get some of his old buddies with Corvettes to come. Watch out Nick Betegh... (sp?)Cool

+1 Jeff Conklin - If McPorn is running it, I'm in too

Yea Lainey. The more, the merrier. Even though this is primarily a Porsche event, and I hope it fills up with Porsche cars (enthusiasts) before registration closes, my previous post still stands, even against the Corvettes.

Do you want a handycap? Cool
