A couple of years ago, I stayed at the Knight's Inn in Charleston. Do not stay there.  My room smelled like cat pee, and there were many uninvited guests residing in my room.

Be careful  on your way to the track from Charleston.  The local sheriff is strict with speed enforcement.

Drew, RTR runs Summit Point in late Augst and early November.  Rooms at the Holiday Inn Express were blocked off (reserved) for RTR members at a discounted rate.  It only applies to our events.  If you run SP with a different region, they may have "special" room rates.

Yeah, timing of when you hit that section can make a difference.

However, that being said, we hit it at about 6:00pm last event and buzzed right through, which was surprising.

Even with that potential slowdown, I still prefer 15 over 81. There seems to be significantly less traffic, and nowhere near as many construction delays as what we experienced travelling 81.

As for the Holiday Inn Express. The rooms are definitely the best of any we've experienced in the Summit Point area.

YMMV,
Jack
