I think that could be my forum name - left hand out the window!

Mid-O was a blast.  I drove the little red car out on the turnpike where I didn't get many a point by either.

Anyway the track was a blast - a lot to learn because once you step off the brakes at the end of the back straight everything is connected.  Miss a turn in and you just have to back out and regroup.  However string a couple together an it is sheer unadulterated pleasure.

ARPCA put on a nice event; the Sessions were long and allowed learning the track.  I was solo'd at lunch day one so I was able to lighten the load.  There was nothing there as lite HP as I was but there was a shy driver in a corvette that had to let me through after repeatedly running up on him in the infields.

Very technical but more rewarding the Shenandoah.  My low HP 944 likes Mid-o hands down over the Glen.  There I could eat a meal trying to peddle out of the boot.  At mid-o the long up hill was after a decent straight and a high speed left where I could carry momentum and the low HP didn't really hurt the climb.

The long back straight ,well "Left hand out the window" had to traverse this part of the track to get to the corners anyway so I managed a lot of traffic there giving me open space to 7,  8, 9, 10 (ab) & 11 before a short straight for a breather.

I think it is a must drive track to which I plan to return.

Regarding the ride... Can't wait until Tuesday Confusedhock: Should have an RS BARN  black 968 track car in the garage next to my little red 944.

Maybe I won't need a new forum name . . .

Than again it IS the same driverTongue

Just got back from Michigan using 80. It took me 8hrs from the Ohio border because of construction. Westbound it took 6hrs to the Ohio border.

I talked to a guy that was towing a Miata from Mid Ohio with a Murano and he said he was able to do 80 mph.

Have fun with your new car Jim!

I'm having a hard time sleeping at night - so anxious for this weekend @ Summit with Potomac.

Jim, where are you staying? I'm at the Hampton Inn in Inwood.

Jim,

Congrats on 968, hope you aren't sending the 944 to pasture.

Chris, I'm in Winchester.

The Red car already has the leather re-installed; maybe I'll actually replace the carpet like I wanted to on that drive up to Snidley in '04!  Maybe I'll treat it like Tony's little white car just pamper & drive.

The black car - well I've slid down the slope a little as it isn't exactly stock either ;-)

BTW, the 944 can out run a cow...

with a wee head start!

Jim the car looks great.  Did Pete use the Turbo Cup Bilsteins, MO30 bars and upgraded control arms? Drive well at Summit.

Side note: I re-x-rayed the ankle Tuesday and it is healing nicely.  In fact I am allowed to let my foot hit the ground while using the crutches, which will further facilitate new bone forming.  Prognosis is good to go for WGI middle of August. Tongue
