You know, seriously.  I don't know the story here Chris, but you have vehicles (yes plural!) with 4 wheels, so what exactly is the problem?  Do you just mean to tell us that you are taking off your skirt?

Something simple, inexpensive and less likely to distract you from your driving -- a handheld stopwatch with memory (CDOC sells a couple models from $60 - $90), a sheet of paper and a friend in another run group.

That should give you all the info you need until you're ready to invest in something more elaborate.
