Confusedhock: Any chance since they are repaving, that they will dig Shenandoah up and make a real track?

So true and I don't, but my car does however.  I do however enjoy gimmicky, unsafe non flowing course designs.  You can see the similarities of Shenandoah in WGI, Mid Ohio, VIR, Road America, Mosport, VIR ect ect ect ect..........Confusedhock: Well maybe not.

I don't participate in the field of dreams mentality, "Build it and they will come"

But tend to follow "Build it correct and I will come" Smile

Good to hear they are addressing the SP problems as this is a fun circut.

Chris, has someone that you can trust seen this in person? What are they going to place on top? How long are they going to let it cure?

Yes, Mike Collins saw it today and posted on the Spec Miata forum. Mike is reliable. The word was a few weeks ago that they were going to use a fine aggregate asphalt fill in where they grind out the problem areas. I have no idea about curing.

There has been some web chatter about Thunderbolt's surface (supposedly a special polymer material that cured for about a month) breaking up in the Rolex races. I hope to learn more about that when I'm at Lightning tomorrow.

Its seems that even with all the technical advances in asphalt that concrete may be the only real solution when it comes to high G' and sticky tires.

The line in T1, T5, and T6 was ground down and new pavement installed Wednesday.  Bikes were on it yesterday, and will be on track thru the weekend.

Walking it, it is smooth, and the new pavement looks like an asphalt version of the old concrete patches.
