Aaron,

The Holiday Inn Express (a number of us are staying there) is brand new and about the same distance to the track as Shoney's.  It is however on the other side of the race track over in Charlestown so that may be an issue or a benefit for you, it just depends on the route you take getting there.

As it's new we've never been there but on paper (the internet) it looks good.  It's 4/10 of a mile from the horse track and there are a number of nice places to eat there.  Although this event is only two days and we are having a pig roast at the track on Saturday so dinners are not too big a deal for this event.

Kickin an older thread to see if there are any reviews or "RTR Central" hotels for the June event.

Where is everyone staying?  I've never heard anything personally, about drinking in the Winchester hampton Inn parking lot :dude:

The issue was not drinking in the parking lot, it was drinking as a group in the lobby.

Its still a nice place to stay and very trailer friendly.

Just guessing...but normally this is an SCCA race weekend on Summit Main.  (remember miata's flying over the wall at turn 3???)  For what its worth (don't plan around my ideas) I always sneak in when I know there is an event going on.  More than likely, if there is an SCCA event, they will have security guards at the gate and you will be able to get in -- Esp if you are trying to get your Scirocco in. (no, it's not a Porsche Smile
