The Porsche Club of America has over 113,000 members across its 144 Regions. The Riesentöter (RTR) Region is the twelfth largest and one of the most active regions in the country. Originally founded in 1957 as the Eastern Pennsylvania Region of Porsche Club of America, we were the second region of PCA to be founded, and we consisted of 15 members. Changing our name in 1973 to Riesentöter (say Ree-zen-toat-er) which loosely translated from the German means Giant Killer -- a whimsical reference to the race track might of the little Porsches over the big Corvettes, Ferraris, and Jaguars of the day.
Many of our members reside in the 10 counties of southeastern Pennsylvania, specifically: Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, Lehigh, Northampton, Philadelphia, and Schuylkill. However, Porsche owners residing anywhere in the world are welcome to apply for membership.
Riesentöter strives for balance of activities to offer its members. Owning a Porsche and being a member of RTR/PCA presents the owner/member with the opportunity to participate in events such as:
- Monthly meetings featuring interesting topics and speakers
- Annual social events such as our Summer Picnic and Holiday Banquet
- Road Rallies, Concours de Elegance, Autocross, Driver's Education, and much more
Long perceived by other regions as a driver's region, Riesentöter promotes heavily the use of the car -- driving it, not just showing it. Although completely independent of each other, RTR Autocrossing flows beautifully into Driver's Education (Track Events) and Driver's Education flows into Club Racing. RTR members are often National Champions in whatever realm of competition they may enter.
Perhaps the most important thing that Riesentöter Region, Porsche Club of America has to offer is the camaraderie that is generated when over 2,300 people with a common affection for one of the world's finest automobiles come together to celebrate that affection and to share their experiences with each other. We hope that you will consider joining us in that celebration.
